Metal Supported Crown and Bridge Prosthesis

Sabit ProtezlerCrown prosthesis are prosthesis that are produced using various materials for the purpose of restoring the teeth in areas that are visible through the opening of the mouth. They are generally preferred when there is too much loss of matter on teeth to be unsuitable for the application of fillings or when other aesthetic expectations are present.

Bridge prosthesis are a kind of prosthesis that transmits chewing pressures that are inflicted on the body and base of natural teeth to the jaw bone through the periodontium (tissue surrounding the teeth) and the alveolus (bone structure surrounding the teeth). Bridge prosthesis are administered in cases where the gap created by the loss of teeth is not very wide and where the adjacent teeth on both sides of the gap are healthy.

Main reasons for the use of bridge prosthesis:
Replacing lost teeth
Functionality
Aesthetics
Preservation of factors such as phonation
In the past, metal infrastructures were used to provide support for porcelain, which has a fragile structure. The use of metals caused allergies and hygienic health problems along with presenting aesthetic disadvantages such as grey reflections especially in areas where the thickness of the porcelain is insufficient, an opaque appearance and the presence of a grey colored band which is visible on the edges of the gums. Thus, the use of metals is rapidly being abandoned as a result of the intrinsic structure of porcelain becoming more resilient as a result of the advances in technology and the increase in the availability of infrastructures having the same color as natural teeth for use by dentists in their treatments.

Non-metal Supported (Fully Ceramic) Crown and Bridge Prosthesis

Crown prosthesis are prosthesis that are produced using various materials for the purpose of restoring the teeth in areas that are visible through the opening of the mouth. They are generally preferred when there is too much loss of matter on teeth to be unsuitable for the application of fillings or when other aesthetic expectations are present.

Areas of Application:
Replacing loss of matter that has occurred as a result of cavities and fractures
Correction of crowding problems
Closing of diastemas (tooth gaps)
Rectifying tooth abrasions
Rectifying discoloration issues
Providing a white smile
Extending the length of teeth
